Some thought is being given by this blog administrator, to the establishment of a Third Order Franciscan group within the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter (the Canadian Deanery). Being the Minister of a Third Order Secular Franciscan Fraternity in Oshawa (the Fraternity of St. Angela Merici), I would be most willing to start up such a group in the Greater Toronto Area. The Oshawa SFO Fraternity would take such a group under its wings in the role of sponsoring fraternity, until the group became more firmly established in numbers and could be established canonically as an actual Anglican Use Fraternity.
Even if only two or three were involved at first, this would be enough. In any event get togethers, perhaps monthly, might involve studying the life of St. Francis, Franciscan history, the Rule and Constitutions. The recitation of the Anglican Use office would also take place at such meetings.
So far, this is just a thought. However, the regional minister of the Secular Franciscan Order in Ontario is most supportive of the idea.
Although this is primarily for potential Ordinariate members, any Catholic of any rite in communion with the Church of Rome may also become part of such a group. Please note: This group will be quite traditional in nature, although following the Pauline Rule of 1978.
